Meet Alex!

Find him sat at the piano writing soundtracks for movies & TV, or songwriting with guitar in hand, Alex lives and breathes all things music. With diverse training across classical and contemporary writing, Alex combines his passion for instrumental playing with his technical prowess, contributing to TV sync placements worldwide and exciting projects such as Netflix's Spirit Riding Free and Warner Brother's Scooby Doo and Guess Who?.

Current Role

Alex is currently part of Minus5db, a music production company based in Los Angeles.Working across the company in a multifaceted role, Alex plays a key part in ensuring productions are organised and that output is quality-controlled to the highest standards. His sharp problem-solving abilities are essential in the functionality of the business, while his creative versatility brings energy and innovation to projects.An accomplished graphic designer and content creator, Alex also brings his prolific experience in design to the team’s projects, elevating the company’s online presence and visual identity.

Education & Experience

Alex’s musical journey began as Head Chorister at Salisbury Cathedral, which led to a prestigious music scholarship at Sherborne School. There, he honed his multi-instrumental talents, performing as First Trumpet in swing bands and orchestras, while also leading a 100-strong choir and a barbershop quartet. Alex continued his studies at The University of Manchester, where he graduated with First Class Honours in Music and won multiple awards for his work in Film Music and Electroacoustic Composition. Most recently, he completed a Master’s in Music Production & Sound Engineering at dBs Institute Manchester, graduating with Distinction.

Two's A Riot

Alex is also part of a pop-duo called Two's A Riot, writing cinematic pop songs with fellow producer and composer Vincent Ott. With four singles released to date and thousands of streams across the globe, be sure to watch this space!
